Looking to invest in the stock market. Where can I find good penny stocks?

Yes well I have an etrade account, and I would like to invest about 200-400 bucks in penny stocks, or stocks that are quickly on the rise. Anyone know some great websites or a stock I should/can get started with? Thanks for the help.

  1. You'd be better off buying one or two shares of AAPL or POT than wasting your time with penny stocks. They only cost a few pennies for a reason!!! They usually go to $0.
  2. There are no good penny stocks - the whole market for them is manipulated by people who advertise them heavily to raise the demand and price, then sell out quick before they go down. Unless you are the manipulator, it would be sheer coincidence for you to buy and sell at the infrequent moments when it would make for profit instead of a big loss. This game is designed only to suck the money out of amateurs. The regular stock markets are regulated so this kind of fraud is less likely. Play with penny stocks if you insist, but remember that its a loser's game, worse than playing the slots.
  3. Penny stocks do not trade on the NYSE and others. They trade over the counter and on unregulated exchanges. otcstockexchange.com. There is a high history of people who invest and the so-called company split. As in a robbery scam. You would invest in overnight get rich schemes, a company that needs a delivery van to name a few. It's more closer to plain gambling and there is never a good stock to pick there. However you can look for micro cap stocks on the AMEX and NASDAQ. These are usually stocks selling at about $2 to $9 dollars a share. A $2 stock can go down for you to buy. Vonage is a leading provider of VoIP Internet broadband telephone services. 4. Penny stocks are the big gamble. But the payoff is often a long time coming. For anyone in their investing life who is asking this question, the answer is that penny stocks are only for people who know a whole lot more about the companies than most people well versed in the market are. You need to know why the market is wrong, and be prepared to wait for the market to figure that out.
  5. No disrespect intended, Willy, but penny stocks are the worst type of investment.
  6. Penny stocks at best are a gamble at worst part of a scam. Yes they move dramatically but it truth by the time the public hears about it they have moved and been sold again and gone down - never to return :-( If your are still intent on investing in pennys, try www.pennysleuth.com. Don't say you haven't been warned.
  7. I've never heard that penny stocks are a good thing to put your money in. If you want good stocks to invest in, look at a 12 month chart for these at finance.google.com CLR ANR SID POT FDG CPST MCF WLT EBIX MOS CF BZP
